About
Harriet Poznansky (b. 1990, Kendal, UK) is an international artist based in London. She graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2014 and currently works within the field of expanded figurative painting, marked by a strong sensibility towards surrealism.
Poznansky’s multidisciplinary practice spans painting, drawing, print, sound, writing, performance, and installation. Her work is grounded in a methodology of collage, and process-driven material experimentation. Through this approach, Poznansky explores philosophical questions surrounding selfhood and absurdism as well as formal questions regarding the relationship between drawing and painting.
Imagery within her drawings and paintings draws on universal archetypes, symbolic forms, and found or discarded printed media, while also engaging with visual languages rooted in the history of art and painting.
