This current body of paintings explores image that fluidly moves between abstraction and figuration. The end results are unknown to me at the start and only form through an intuitive process of painting with a brush and utilizing varying qualities of paint. Common themes within the final imagery continue to explore ideas of the body and story telling. The intention is to create images that appear to be on the edge of transformation as opposed to fixed familiar objects. More cartoonish playful elements have emerged, an elephant breathing fire, a trope that suggest it is either angry or has been tricked into eating something spicy. Two girls involved in a pillow fight, a couple that gaze into each others eyes at the shallow end of the pool, a strange beast that is all legs and tales, like a gathering of ancient man.
